From: rappard@dds.nl Subject: DVD brand recommendations anyone? Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:09:27 +0100 (CET) Starting to dip my toes in the water, as I just bought a DVD burner. Does anyone have recommendation(s) on brands to use? I googled, but opinions differ wildly. Are T-Ys good ones? I can easily get Verbatim 48X Pastel (Taiyo Yuden), Plextor 48X (Taiyo Yuden) and/or Tybotech 52X (Taiyo Yuden) spindles. Please send replies off-list - I'll send a summary to the list. BWT: Giant Sand 2004-10-10 Haarlem, Marantz EM-8 > Sharp IM-DR420H (my master). Thanks in advance for any pointers, Martin http://www.pixieslive.com
From: rappard@dds.nl Subject: Re: DVD brand recommendations anyone? Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:22:52 +0100 (CET) Correction on my previous post, was looking at the wrong product sheet (as the speed indications should have told me anyway): Plextor DVD-R 8X (Taiyo Yuden) Verbatim Pastel DVD-R 4X (Taiyo Yuden) Fuji DVD+R 8X (Taiyo Yuden) Verbatim Pastel DVD+R 4X (Taiyo Yuden) Is there quality difference in + or - anyway (my burner - like most these days - can handle both)?
From: ognelson@uchicago.edu Subject: Anyone tested the Neuros II for wav recording? Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 10:25:39 -0600 Anyone know anything about this one: http://www.neurosaudio.com/store/prod_neuros.asp I'm interested in tests of quality, battery life, etc., done by real tapers, who have experienced a quality format like DAT and care about sound quality. I wish it had a digital input, not just line in. Here's a forum about the neuros' wav recording features: http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1174 Olaf

From: "Marc Becker" <marcdbecker@hotmail.com> Subject: FS: Sony M1 Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 21:48:14 -0500 I'm looking to unload my M1 that I no longer use. I believe it has about ~300 hours of recording and playback time on it. It has a slight scratch across the LCD screen due to packing it to close to my mp-2 in my "taping" bag. I have the original packaging/box that includes the instruction manual, leather carrying case, the rechargeable batteries/charger (never used) and a radio shack 1.5-12v AC adaptor (lost the original sony adaptor). I'm also including an oade passive 7 pin cable. I'm looking for about $350 OBO. E-mail me at marcbecker@gmail.com I can supply pictures if interested.
