I then played a 48khz dat and tried to get Peak 4 to record at 48khz. Couldn't seem to; it said it was recording at 44.1, so i figured Peak just couldn't handle anything other than that. I then tried Soundtrack (comes with Final Cut Pro) because I've recorded with that in the past. By default, it tried to record it at 44.1 and was able to record after i changed the setting to 48khz but the fact that I was able to do either (and it depended on my input to decide on the recording setting) leads me to believe that it isn't taking the signal straight from the incoming audio and is doing some resampling (even if the final recording ends up at the same sample rate as the source). So what do I need to do to capture the non-resampled audio? What app do I need to be using, or what setting to I need to change? Thanks a lot to anyone who can help! aaron ------------------------------ From: Randy Vogel Subject: DVD extraction? Date: Thu, 25 Nov 2004 00:57:56 -0800 Personally, I haven't bothered making DVD-audio discs, since data discs suit my needs just fine, and I've been held back by little things like the relatively high cost of software for producing gapless audio, and lack of means of producing an exact copy of an audio DVD (as can be done via EAC with CDRs). Has the situation changed lately with respect to dvd audio discs? Gapless burning at a reasonable price (under $100?); Bit-perfect copies (I see it claimed by several software products...) ------------------------------ From: Keith Bode Subject: Re:DVD brand recommendations anyone? Date: Thu, 25 Nov 2004 01:34:38 -0800 I bought a Pioneer 8x DVD-/+R drive about 6 months ago. I have no plans of getting into DVD authoring, and not much of copying DVD's either so far. The drive has met my needs so far. I still use a Plextor 12x SCSI burner, and a Plextor 40X CD-Rom for any CD-R burning, I occasionally do, and have both units in a 2 bay external SCSI cabinet. It works for me. My software said Fuji Media was made by TY, as was their CD-R's. I was told by people doing a lot of DVD-R, that Ritek R06 media was very good, unlike the Ritek CD-R media. I have used some Ritek, Fuji and TY media, and have had no problems with any of them, except I don't have a hell of a lot of experience. Good luck, enjopy your research. >DVD brand recommendations anyone? > ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
