--part2_e8.73ded25.2ed97d40_boundary-- --part1_e8.73ded25.2ed97eae_boundary-- ------------------------------ From: "Fares Halteh" Subject: OT: History of live music trading Date: Sat, 27 Nov 2004 18:24:11 -0500 Offtopic post, but I can't think of a better place to get help than here. I'm required to write a paper for my social science class on a virtual community on the internet of my choice. I decided I wanted to focus on a few tape trading lists/sites like the DAT heads. I am just wondering if anyone knows where I can get some information on the history of tape trading (perhaps pre-internet) and maybe some information on Gift economies and how they work in the trading community. I have a feeling a lot of this will come back to the Grateful dead and Phish, and quite honestly I don't know too much about how these communities got started. I'd appreciate any help I can get in coming up with information for this paper. Thanks so much --Fares ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
