How much atennuation (dB's) am I getting on a Sony
D100 when the mics are at the line in and the level
dial is at 5?

I have been using Minnetonka Audio's Discwelder Chrome, and MLP encoder for
certain DVD-A projects I have been doing. I recently decided to turn all of
my audio/video editing, and encoding to a Mac dual G5. My question does
anyone know of an audio program equivalent for these programs on a mac
machine?

I have a pair of DPA 4061s and battery box for sale.
Mic modifications and bbox construction were done by a
friend of mine and are outlined below:
- Each microphone originally came with a Sennheiser
LEMO connection. These connectors were removed and
replaced with right angel micro dot connectors.
- A fixed response 9v battery box was constructed
using a schematic found online. High quality parts
were used such as Black Gate capacitors, Caddock
resistors, WBT silver solder, and point to point
wiring when possible. The mics attach to the battery
box and the output is a 1/8 inch mini-jack. This was
installed inside of a cell phone shell for stealth
concerns. In other words, the bbox looks like a cell
phone.
- This setup has been field tested with good results
and you will need a right angle 1/8" to right angle
1/8" mini jack cable (going from bbox to recording
device) to begin using setup.
Feel free to email me off list for questions,
pictures, etc. Am looking to sell for somewhere in
the $450 range, but price is negotiable.
thanks,
-bill

Rather than archiving DAT to some DVD audio format, unless you plan to play them directly, why not just archive losslessly-compressed data to a standard PC-readable DVD? That is, encode to SHN or FLAC and just burn the files. Nothing simpler and you can get about twice as much audio on a single DVD.

Hi,
I'm looking for an established outfit capable of producing a 48 track audio
recording of an upcoming run of shows in San Francisco.
Please drop me a line at alex@kabella.org if you know of anyone up to the
task.
Thanks,
Alex
