Date: Wed, 08 Dec 2004 21:47:34 -0600 Hey! That guy must not have talked to the band at all. In Austin in October I talked with Kevin and TOD's producer Mike and they both were totally cool with recording and let me record the show from the soundboard. I've also asked Conrad about it a few times and someone even has a recording of him saying that taping is fine. Hopefully they will play in Germany again after the new album comes out so that you can record them!! Brian >hi there, > >does anybody know, if trail of dead changed their >taping policy ? i wanted to record yesterday's show in >frankfurt, germany but was turned down by a security >guy (who talked to the club's promotor before), saying >that they don't allow taping. has anybody had similar >experiences on the current tour ? >afaik they used to allow taping before and sometimes >even allowed soundboard patches. >any information is appreciated. > >cheers >--arEND ------------------------------ From: "Daniel Brewer" Subject: ISO: Phish 3/26/92 @ Ziggy's Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 04:13:47 GMT I'm looking for Phish 3/26/92 @ Ziggy's on tape or cdr. Thanks, Daniel ------------------------------ From: Mark Lavallee Subject: Van der Graaf Generator reunion Reply-To: Mark Lavallee Date: 09 Dec 04 08:47:14 -0800 Hi all, I was planning on flying out to London from Los Angeles for this, but = all the seats left are in the very back row of the balcony way off to the = side so not really worth the expense. Is anyone taping the May 6th Van = der Graaf Generator reunion gig at the Royal Festival Hall? I've got tons = of Hammill/VDGG to trade if you are and would love to get a copy. Thanks - Mark ------------------------------ From: JPollQs@aol.com Subject: ToTrade: New PCRP#7 Dead/NRPS 11-8-70 complete Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 13:45:31 EST The Port Chester Restoration Project tapes continue to amaze me. The new 7th show of this project is such an improvement to all the previously circulated partial copies of this classic Dead/NRPS show. Since it contains so many rarities and outstanding performances, I thought I'd offer it up for some trades. If you'd enjoy a trade, please send a list. I'm not looking for any Dead myself, but I am looking to trade for other live recordings of Miles Davis, Fillmore East & West shows (all bands) and music from the 1965-1975 era in general. Also any Rickie Lee Jones, Patty Griffin or Sam Phillips from the past few years. I'll also take a B&P from each list I send this to. Here is the notation and incredible setlist for this show. Stu Port Chester Restoration Project #007 New Riders of The Purple Sage Grateful Dead Capitol Theater, Port Chester, NY November 8th 1970 Sony TC124 audience master cassettes (4 Ampex C361-90) recorded with unknown dynamic mics, spread approx. 25-30 ft. across the balcony, by Ken & Judy Lee. Truly one of the legendary Grateful Dead shows. This is the last official acoustic set of the 70's. The final Operator and Wake Up Little Suzie plus Mystery Train> My Babe (only time played), New Orleans> Searchin', Main Ten (last time played), all standout in this performance. Around and Around (first time played), and a long stretch before you hear "Baby Blue" again. This also includes the complete New Riders set for the first time. ------------------------------ From: "dr mitch turner" Subject: dats for sale Date: Thu, 09 Dec 2004 14:23:36 -0500 ive slowly found myself getting away from dats...i have about 500 that i would like to sell...i am willing to break up the set...most are either sbd or high quality audiences...im asking for $1.50 per dat...let me know i also have a tascam da20 mk II that is up for the taking... peace and chicken grease ------------------------------ From: "Brian Dowling" Subject: Mac questions Reply-To: "Brian Dowling" Date: Thu, 9 Dec 2004 15:26:37 -0500 I just recently bought a mac dual G5 and am unfamiliar with certain audio programs that I used to use on a pc. I am aware Xact will create flac, and shn files. How do I create cue sheets on a mac like I did when using CD wave editor. I am assumming sector boundaries are still an issue depsite the change in operating systems. What mac program will allow you to split aiff, or wav files on sector boundaries on a mac? or better yet, what program would allow cue sheets rather than actually splitting the tracks? Date: Thu, 09 Dec 2004 20:07:38 -0500 Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone in the U.S. has taped Hayden on his recent tour. More to the point, I'm wondering if you've taped Cuff the Duke, his opening band on many dates. I've taped the band a few times here in Canada, and would be interested in any recordings of their U.S. sets. Any information (or trades) that can be provided would be appreciated!
