The link I pasted shows right preamp, I just called it the wrong name.... >>> I still have the following equipment for sale. It absolutely has to go! Make me an offer. If I get no responses it's going to ebay this weekend. I would rather it go to a taper but it has to go..... OADE BROS. AUDIO M118 MIC PRE / PHANTOM POWER SUPPLY - this is the original killer mic pre I purcased from the Oades. It has had a new battery installed and was used only a few times after the new battery was installed. You can check these out at http://www.oade.com/audiocenter/product.html >>>
From: Quentin Tarantino <quentintarantino_2nd@yahoo.com> Subject: First time with an MD player Date: Sat, 8 Jan 2005 10:06:57 -0800 (PST) After recording with a DAT recorder for the longest time, I'm finally going to try and record a concert on a minidisc player (MZ-N505 type-R). Since I feel like I’m starting from scratch, Can anyone tell me how (if at all) I can properly set my levels, and which mics they recommend? (preferably cheep ones). The venue I’m recording at is a small club/bar, and I’m just worried that it will be bass overloaded due to all the instruments on stage. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! From: "Gary Davis" <g@hoxnet.com> Subject: Fostex D5 error message Reply-to: g@hoxnet.com Date: Sat, 8 Jan 2005 15:13:39 -0800 This code means that both heads (the A head and the B head) are returning essentially no signal. This could mean an electronics problem, but most likely it just means very dirty heads. This can happen in an instant if you play a tape with loose oxide on it, it doesn't mean you haven't taken care of your deck. You need to clean the heads. Most DAT head cleaning tapes are dry. You should only run a dry tape about 10 seconds at a time, but you can do this more than once if the error count starts to go down (ie, the numbers reduce from "9" to "5", for example). But do not run the cleaning tape for a long time; you will simply wear down the heads and the problem could be somewhere else. If you have a wet cleaning tape (very rare) or the expertise to clean the heads manually, of course, this will also fix the problem. --Gary
From: "Tony" <adestefanis@wi.rr.com> Subject: mac computer for sale Date: Sat, 8 Jan 2005 18:06:06 -0600 Hi all, I am selling my mac as I need the money and don't use it enough to justify having it. It has been well taken care of in a smoke free environment, it also has a few extra's. I added a second 40 gig hard drive and added ram, I believe it has 1.5 gig of ram currently. This is the last model of mac to be able to boot in classic/OS9 which is nice for those who would not want to run OSX. I was hoping to get $850 for it with the extra ram and hard drive. I will also include the newest macOSX, which I can even preinstall for you. I have been using a modified Edirol device to plug in my DAT for music editing. If interested I would sell that as well. Below are some of the basic specs of this mac, please send me an email if you are interested. I will wait a few days before putting this up on e-bay... thanks all.. From: Adam Smith <adaml@lanset.com> Subject: Headphones Date: Sat, 08 Jan 2005 19:50:32 -0800 Can anyone recommend a pair of headphones for live mixing on location? Ideally something that will provide some type of isolation from the source sound. I've heard of the etymotics used in conjunction with a hearing protection headset but have never had any experience with this. Can anyone comment on this combination? I was also told to look at headphones drummers use for recording anyone have experience with these? I'd like to hear any advice or comments on brands or solutions. I've used sony 7506's before. I could tell I was getting signal but everything else was washed out by the source. Any diy solutions? I'd like to keep this within $200-300 range. thank you, Adam

I've never tried them under hearing protection headsets; I'd expect that noise cancelling headphones over them would be better. Seth
