I'm wondering how to figure out what year it was made, by reading the serial number. Any site that will help give the info i need? Seth ------------------------------ From: "scott charles" Subject: Gear still for sale Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2005 19:16:34 +0000 Sony PCM-M1 went to the same 50 shows, same time period. Have box, instructions, pleather case, a couple sets of batteries (sony and radioshack) with charger, I think I have a radioshack fast charger in addition to the sony one that I will include. Never used for transferring shows. Includes coresounds 7pin-1/8 mini cable. Some wear marks where I taped the coresounds cable to the M1, so as to avoid the plug problems. Update - I do not have batteries other than the sony ones nor the radioshack charger. As I have sold the other items would like to move this one too so price lowered to $400+shipping unless picked up. Located in Washington NJ prefer local sale so you can pick up but will ship if prepaid. Thanks, scott Please put "recording gear" in message subject ------------------------------ From: "zach" Subject: Whoa nelly...rant/rave/drugs/anti-taper Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2005 12:47:15 -0700 Man.... I'm almost longing for the last few months of 5-6 posts a day. This bickering is a real drain. Total waste of space IMHO. Once a band allows taping, they have to depend on the honesty of their fans to keep their music from being bootlegged. Keith ------------------------------ From: "Wayne Brissette" Subject: FS: DA-P1 w/ Portabrace Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2005 17:09:49 -0600 Well, it's time. After waffling on whether or not to keep my DA-P1 to make backups as I record, I have made the decision to sell the thing. (I'm now using a DEVA IV hard disk recorder as my only recorder). Price: $600.00 with portabrace, power supply, battery. Extra cable that currently has 3 pin XLR on one end (I use 3 pin XLR's typically not four). If you want a "standard" 4-pin XLR on the end, I'll put one on for you. I also have about four or five 6 volt batteries (SLAs). Two of them have vinyl cases that the batteries fit into to help pad them. All these batteries have 3 pin XLR connectors on them. But I'll toss those in, as well as a battery recharger (this is the BatteryMinder -- one of the best in my opinion) for the 6 volt batteries. All of these will be included if you want it, however, as most people know, the shipping charges for SLA batteries can be pretty hefty. But hey, the batteries are free. ;-) Wayne -- Music is spiritual. I believe this show is from Chicago, 11/21/85 (not positive on the date), and it's on the Red Phantom boot label. If you taped this show or know the exact source, please contact me. This is an incredible audience recording for a large venue. Mine are broken...:-( Preferably without battery box, because the one I have still works fine. Thanks. ------------------------------ From: Nick Georges Subject: Re: [BUDD] Re: Help with 24 bit mastering Date: Sun, 16 Jan 2005 07:38:21 -0500 Seth Breidbart wrote: >"American-Digital" wrote: > > > >>My thoughts were there is enough information/data in two 16/44 sources >>to save as one 24/48. Maybe it will help in the mastering process, but usualy you start with 24bit stuff, edit , mix..etc, and then bring it down. I dont really know what you expect for a benefit from processing these files to 24/48 in the first place ??? Its not as simple as taking two 16/44 sources ...combinging them... and getting a 32bit / 88kHz file (or 24/48). I dont think it works that way... but again...what do I know. i'm no engineer, nor do I play one on TV. So I'd wait to hear from someone who really knows what they are talking about. i'm just taking a 1/2 ass'd guess. ------------------------------ From: "Anelena Poulin" Subject: Buddy Cage & Mike Falzarano Date: Sun, 16 Jan 2005 11:36:16 -0500 Hi all....thought I let everyone know that Buddy Cage and Mike Falzarano will be playing a show on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Desert Rain in Danielson, CT.
