I got it broken from another Dat Head, paid to have it serviced by ProDigital. I picked up a used D-7 around this time last year and because of life getting in the way, only had taped one show with it since. It was the first time using the dat and unknowingly did not have all my connections made, so I ended up taping silence. But the reason for my post is that when I was packing up to leave the show, I pulled the battery sled out without taking the tape out first. I must admit, I was warned not to do this but in my haste, it happened. So now I have gone from a working machine to a machine that will load but won't record, play or rewind/cue. Once I load a tape and try to record or play, display goes blank for a second and then the machine does not perform requested action. I searched on the rockpark.com site for a solution but have come up empty. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm really ticked off as I missed taping a sweet Vernon Reid show this past Saturday. One is the smaller battery that fits on the back of the laptop (PA3038U-1BRL, 3000mAH), asking $65. The other is the add on sled that attaches to the bottom of the laptop (PA3039U-!BRL, 5600mAh), I have modified this with a hole in the bottom so you can swap the other battery with out disturbing power, asking $100. Both batteries are in excellent condition and are barely used. E-mail me privately if interested. Thanks.
