Now he wants to plug those mics into a borrowed D100 (still with no battery box). I don't think he'll get the power he needs, so thought I'd ask here. Will the D100 provide proper power to the SP-CMC-8's when not using a Batt Box? Thanks!! I have held onto my Sony D100 and Sonic Studios mics, however, but I feel it might be about time to sell them since they really haven't been used for the last five or six years. This is not an "official" post to sell them, but I will listen to offers if anyone wants to email me. I am really trying to figure out what a fair price for them is. I paid about $1200 for them. I also have a SCMS canceller that I bought in Tokyo for $250. I can give the exact details if anyone needs it. The D100 was also purchased in Japan, so it needs a stepdown transformer or a new wall wart from Sony to run in the States. Everything is in great condifion and includes the manuals, although I am unsure if I still have the original cartons (I think I do). I appreciate any help you folks can offer. Thanks!! I'm thinking of getting a pair of Schoeps Mk4v's, but figured I should ask for opinions on other side-address mics (ie, designed to be vertically-oriented rather than aimed longitudinally at the sound source) to consider. As far as I know, Schoeps is the only maker of such a design with a small diaphraghm (the better for field use), but I can think of a few large-diphragm models: AKG-414 Neumann SM69 Who can help me populate this list? Anyone care to offer commentary on field-use of the larger mics? cheerio! Jean ------------------------------ From: Jean Lerond Subject: hacking the Sony D100 remote Reply-To: Jean Lerond Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2005 10:41:23 -0800 Another thought I had was that it would be rally cool to be able to use my D100 remote with other recorders, if only to monitor levels (as opposed to getting full use of the buttons). Can anyone point me to any resources that give the pin assignments? TIA! Jean ------------------------------ From: "Paul K."
