There is a big open circle over the orchestra - underneath the balcony. believe it or not this is where it always sounded best to me and could safely be considered the "sweet spot" your looking for.. the only problem is it is hallway-ish and people tend to congregate here.. so you may have some feedback noise from them. i wouldn't advise taping in the Balcony area because it can be absolute fucking madness upthere. Orchestra area seems safe.. but there's heavy bass roll off in the front rows like any venue. I've only seen heavy rock shows there though because that's who usually comes there ;) Good Luck!
