I thought they were ok with taping but I couldn't find > anything on the band's website. the band are 100% aok with fans taping/trading for fun, just no selling/exploitation (duh) i've tried to get andy powell to post a formal taping policy on their website - i believe that the issue is just not something they are that concerned with & they chose to not take a "formal" stance on it good luck with your taping experience and let me know if you get a good dub & want to trade it! btw, we have a discussion group devoted to taping/trading/sharing ASH shows at this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Living_Proof/ all are welcome to join - jon -
From: KindTaper@aol.com Subject: Anyone attending SXSW next week? Please tape Jason Falkner... Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2005 23:15:32 EST If you are planning to attend the SXSW music convention in Austin, or just happen to live in or near Austin and don't have any plans for this coming Wednesday 3/16, please consider taping or filming Jason Falkner. His set is at 10 PM at a bar called Tambaleo (302 Bowie St.). Jason Falkner played guitar and sang on the first Jellyfish album. He has also played in The Grays and had several excellent solo albums, which unfortunately weren't well promoted. He is a power pop maniac, influenced by Elvis Costello, The Beatles, The Damned, Wire and a diverse list of other great artists. This is his first show with a band in a *long* time (he's been doing solo shows for years) and it will be incredible. I seriously considered driving all the way from New Jersey to see this, but I simply can't afford to do this and another trip that I have planned for next month. If anyone can go tape this, I will happily make it worth your while monetarily and/or with shows. I have some Jason masters, as well as other stuff that I can throw your way. He was completely cool with taping when I saw him twice in 2001, and I highly doubt he's changed his stance. I was able to film him as well with no problem. You could probably even tape from the board. His most recent EP was fantastic and his new solo album won't be anything short of amazing. I guarantee that you will be rawked and entertained. It will be the most enjoyable Wednesday night you have had in a while. The show is part of the SXSW festival, but you should be able to buy tickets at the venue. They don't have a website, but I'm sure if you live in Austin, they are in the phone book. Please contact me if you are able to get a tape. Thanks, Wes Kindtaper@aol.com

I'm going to NYC in April and there is a concert I will attend with a hope to record it. Is there anyone who has any experience in recording concerts in NYC, in particular, in Irving Plaza or a similar venue? I want to know the regular things such as whether security guards are too strict, the level of sound on the audience recordings, etc. (anything might help). Thanks a lot in advance! Oleg.
