From: GaoBest@aol.com Subject: ISO: New Order taper 4-29-05 Kaiser (Oakland) Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2005 15:03:59 EST SSIA - if possible I'd rather not tape this show but of course am willing. What is security like at Kaiser, I was last there in '97. I have this idea that the sound system there isn't great (like SF Maritime Hall), am I right? I know I can't be the only New Order fan here, so any other tapers/fans are welcome. My rig is the M1 and DSM (Sonic Studios). Please email me directly about this. Thanks! From: udo <udovdh@yahoo.com> Subject: specification comparison? Date: Sun, 13 Mar 2005 23:50:15 -0800 (PST) Hello, How can I compare the SNR, Dynamic range specification of the Sony D100 with the Edirol R-1's? For the Sony is specced: Dynamic Range Standard and Long Play: >87dB @ 1kHz IHF-A,22kHz LPF, Line In Signal To Noise Ratio Standard and Long Play: >87dB @ 1kHz IHF-A,22kHz LPF, Line In Frequency response 44.1 kHz: 20 - 20 kHz (± 1 dB) For the Edirol: Frequency response: 20 Hz--20 kHz (+/- 2dBu) Dynamic Range: 83dB S:N 93 dB Can anyone with some insight explain? Maybe also why 24-bit is a useful option on the R-1? Kind regards, Udo __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! I'm not a native New Yorker, but I taped Built To Spill there four nights running (09/24/03-09/27/03) while on vacation. Security was light - they checked my bag, but I got my Sharp MD and Marantz mic in without a problem, and taped in plain view upstairs (nobody seemed to care about the mic dangling from the balcony). Of course BTS is very pro-taping, so your mileage may vary - I also suspect security is more tight for rap and heavy metal concerts, BTS just attracts the pale indienerd crowd.:-) Martin http://pixieslive.com
