Hello! I've been using a piece of shareware that I like very much - WaveRepair (http://www.delback.co.uk/wavrep/) It is specifically designed for the LP to CD task and works very nicely. I've used it for a long time with several sound cards (16 bit of course). It can split into tracks (from a single big WAV file) automatically, has nice click, filtering, and equalization if you choose to use those options. To get the CD's back on the computer with high fidelity and accuracy, use Exact Audio Copy (also free) at http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/ It is often used by tapers as well for various purposes. Give it a try! WaveRepair isn't even crippleware...the donation is on the honor system, but I expect after using it a while, you will like it a lot. Best wishes, David Holtkamp Los Alamos, NM
From: TD <the_deekin@hotmail.com> Subject: RE: Splitting up CDs into tracks Date: Sun, 10 Apr 2005 12:24:59 -0400 If I am understanding this correctly... You can load the discs to your computer with EAC http://etree.org/eac.html And then cut them into tracks (I believe with correct sector boundaries) with CD WAVE: http://etree.org/cdwave.html I believe EAC is free and CD Wave should be registered after 1 month (don't quote me on those). Hopefully this is helpful. (?) -Heikki ============================== From: KindTaper@aol.com Subject: Splitting up CDs into tracks Date: Sat, 9 Apr 2005 14:51:48 EDT If anyone can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it and I could even spin you a few DVDs when I get my laptop back from service: I collect vinyl, and I like to run the LPs to CD. I do this using a standalo ne HHB burner. I run each side as one long track, so there are 2-4 tracks per disc, each track being 1 whole side of an LP. What I would like to know, is if there is a free or cheap, but mainly easy to use software that will allow me to take the discs that I have already burned, load them onto my computer, then cut off the lead-in before the album starts or any other unwanted parts, and then allow me to place chapter marks before the beginning of each song and create a new "final" disc. If anyone knows what I am trying to do, and or does the same thing and is familiar with how to accomplish this task, I would be ever so grateful to hear your method. Thanks, Wes Kindtaper@aol.com ==============================

From: "Gary Davis" <g@hoxnet.com> Subject: Re: Tracks Reply-to: g@hoxnet.com Date: Sun, 10 Apr 2005 18:53:55 -0700 There are many ways to do this, but the best ways are "cheap" and "easy" only for people who already have, and know how to use, high-end software! I used Cool Edit Pro for editing (trimming heads and tails) and getting the exact numeric frame where I want tracks. I use Notepad or a Dos editor to write a cue sheet. I use CDRWIN to burn out the discs from the cue sheet. --Gary

From: valuta@gmx.net Subject: Garbage -- digital FM/TV offer Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2005 11:41:32 +0200 (MEST) hello list, i recorded two GARBAGE shows off digital FM/TV & AUD and offer these up for trade. looking for DAT trades only, preferably with digital FM and good quality AUD tapers. best regards- roland --- Garbage -- 04/04/2005 Potsdam, RBB Fritz Studios A barely documented onstage appearance at FRITZ RADIO FM station in berlin in front of a selected few. Pictures show the stage was _tiny_ and very close to the audience, most likely the reason for Shirley to drop the "you can touch me if you want" lyrics from queer (likely just to be on the safe side..). digital cable FM>DAT (63 mins. complete show) --- Garbage -- 04/03/2005 Cologne, Palladium The Band headlined the 19TH WDR ROCKNACHT at the Palladium in Cologne. An edited version of the show has been TV broadcast yesterday, with 2 songs and almost all of Shirley's comments cut out as well as a mixed-up running order. The video gives an overcooled feeling to the show but actually, having attended myself, it's been quite a relaxed affair. digital cable TV>DAT (58 mins. pro audio feed w/interview) digital cable TV>DVD (58 mins. pro shot video w/interview) okm2r>a3>njb3@48K>DAT (78 mins.
