("Gary Davis") ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Chas Subject: Taper Reborn Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 07:50:39 -0700 I just recently went out and some brand new taping gear (Sony MZ-RH910 HI-MD Recorder, Sony ECM-MS907 Stereo Mic) and I'm still in the process of working out the bugs. The Hi-MD format records in Linear PCM format which is CD quality. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on this format? I know this is a DAT list and I would have went with DAT but the price of DAT recorders is what ultimately made me go with MD. I used this rig for the first time last weekend to tape Twisted Sister here in Vegas. For a first recording it came out okay but I need to lower the recording level next time I tape a show which should be this coming Friday night when Neal Schon's new band Soul Sirkus plays a club here in Vegas. This should turn out to be a great show. Chas ------------------------------ From: "Larry" Subject: ISO: Garbage (Particularly Philly) Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 12:10:33 -0400 Hello, Been out of the trading/taping scene for a while, but I was just wondering if anyone got a recording of Garbage 4/16 Philly, I deeply regret leaving my gear at home! It was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Please contact me me if you can help! Also wouldn't mind other shows from the current tour. Thanks. Thanks, Eric McRoberts ------------------------------ From: "Joe Reed" Subject: Zeifro Inbox for sale (Cheap) Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2005 02:16:56 +0000 Hi Trying to dump my old Zeifro Inbox. I haven't used it in awhile and would love to pass it on. I used this with my Dat for a few years. It is a good starter AD/mic pre. I'm looking for $160 and I'll throw in Postage (priority with insurance and tracking). I also have an old core sound cable I'll send you(though you will prob want to get a better cable). The unit is in fine working order but has a few surface scratches and a "Been there...Taped It" sticker on the top. If you are interested drop me an email and we can discuss the details. thanks Joe ------------------------------ From: "Larry" Subject: ISO: Garbage (Particularly Philly) Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 22:42:08 -0400 Hello, Been out of the trading/taping scene for a while, but I was just wondering if anyone got a recording of Garbage 4/16 Philly, I deeply regret leaving my gear at home! Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2005 13:17:41 +1000 Hi Realise subject matter is on the wrong list -but nevertheless ,I swear some kind soul might help me! Dashed around my friends place ,to use his mini-disc recorder( as I intend to record Mark Murphy) .Alas his wife cannot find his manual for the above unit........can anybody tell me how to record with it, sounds pathetic ,but frustrations have set in. regards Ian Werbiuk ------------------------------ From: "Ken Ko" Subject: Hospital / ultrasonics dat taping question Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 20:28:53 -0700 Ironic that I first purchased my M1 from a guy on this list a while ago (thanks again to who I bought it from), and it was from a hospital's overstock of D8s, M1s originally set aside for recording hours and hours of ultrasonics. Which now brings me to a non music/melody taping question.... has anyone taped their wife's pre-natal doctor's visit lately? Supposedly at some point in the pregnancy, the doctor can do ultrasonics and you can hear a heartbeat of the fetus. I have no idea of the technology they use or the equipment for ultrasonics, but I would assume there are digital outs (or audio RCAs). So my question is, what kind of output connections are used in those devices and how would I hook up my M1 to that? Call me a geek or sentimental if you will :-) Thanks for any help from those DAT fathers out there :-D -Ken ------------------------------ From: gordon wilson Subject: [BT]Codetalkers w/ Jimmy Herring 2005-04-16 Asheville,NC Reply-To: gordon wilson Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 23:55:23 -0400 http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=3D13502 capped at 30kbs and will be in superseed mode so you won't see a seed till I'm done uploading. Reply-to: g@hoxnet.com Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2005 04:52:05 -0700 Sorry for the OT here but have a quirky Windows 98SE problem. Sometimes when I do a lot of HD writing, my computer starts making beeps that sound like a Pong game (high and low frequency beeps). They are coming from the computer, not from the sound output. Any ideas? It sounds like I may be running some sort of un-wanted extra program. I have a 3rd-party disk controller card if that might be making the sounds. thanks! --Gary ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
