"fancy" means board patches only....
i saw a guy in l.a. with 2 "handheld" mics. in cross formation openly tin
front of the stage. unfortunately, i've talked to him before and he "does not
trade tapes"...go figure...
also, emails sent to the website or wherever are seldom read on the road,
they have been on tour a lot..
David, the leader is very nice and approachable and loves getting good
sounding tapes of the sets.
he is also into video taping, IF YOU PROMISE TO GET A COPY TO HIM PROMPTLY.

I saw a couple of Stands from my seat in the North Terrace. I know one
person had problems. If anyone who was there, especially the lucky DFC
FOB rigs, and pulled a nice recording of a killer show, and would be
willing to dupe one, I certainly would be grateful.

Oade M248 pre. Bought last January from Johnny Schuster. Built like a
tank, everybody should know all about this workhorse. The legend!
Excellent condition cosmetically, and has the classic Oade sound.

OK folks...=20
I'm looking for ANY data from ANYONE regarding the behavior they have
with their Sony SDT-9000 drive and audio software on ANY platform.
I'm rapidly becoming baffled.
Under Linux my Sony SDT-9000 drives with the downloadable 12.2
firmware seem to give phantom indications that emphasis, sampling
frequency, and encoding have changed. This causes read_dat to create
a bunch of small little files instead of one nice big file.
I've managed to get wdat working but it doesn't try to detect these
sorts of changes much less change files when they are detected, which
is somewhat problematic as of course I have some tapes which are a mix
of 44.1 / 48 / 32 kHz and may or may not have emphasis on some
sections. I have seen some error messages from wdat which make me
believe that it likely is also getting these error messages.
I've sent email to the DAT2WAV and VDAT people asking if their
products for Windows have these problems or not. No response as of
yet.
So, if you have one of these units and it's been working well for you,
what operating system and what software are you using? What firmware
revision is your drive?
Thanks in advance for any help. Basically I want to know if it's
possible to get this working or not so I don't throw more time down
the rathole. As of right now I don't know of a single person who has
indicated they can reliably read audio on this drive.

For sale, not auction, unless I have to...=3D20
1) Tascam Da-P1 portable deck and wall-wart AC power/charger unit.
2) the old Ecocharge system used to power it in the field, along with
its wall-wart.
They're both collecting dust in my closet, as I've been a
laptop-recordist for a couple of years now.
For the sake of full disclosure: the DA-P1 has some wear on the heads,
and it's quite likely the need to be replaced. Thus, I'm not asking
for full value. To that end, I'd like to see approx 850 for both,
shipped UPS either 3rd day select or 2nd day air. I'll take less if
it's a serious offer that makes sense.
Reason for selling: I don't use 'em, and it just feels wrong to not
have them repaired and out in service. So, if you're looking for a
robust portable deck at a great price, especially if you're close to a
service/repair center, then this is a great deal for you.

It has been my experience over the years that many Jane's Addiction
tapers from back in the day simply aren't around anymore and/or do not
trade anymore. I taped Porno For Pyros back in 1995 and started
trading 1st gen cassettes of my show right away. I'm just curious to
know whether anyone on this list taped Jane's Addiction, Porno For
Pyros or any other Jane's related band? I just recently got some
taping gear and will be taping alot of shows in the future. I have a
ton of stuff to trade. E-mail me if you taped them or can give some
unfo on who did.
Thanks much!!!!
Chas
