Are data tapes rougher than audio dats on your heads? i know the differences between 60m and 90m tapes, I am not referring to that. But it seems that all the manufacturers recommend only audio tapes, not to use data tapes. And of course maxell says never to use data tapes in my dat deck. But I know I have heard the data tapes are actually better, lower errors. But then I have heard that the audio tapes are a different formulation which is not as rough on the heads. Just wanted to know what everyone's conclusion is on this one, after all these years. Tom Yahoo! Mail Stay connected, organized, and protected. I agree after reviewing some other pricing sources. Since my deck does need some head-work on it, and the batteries were used in the course of taping, I'd like to get around 500 for the following, which I'm not willing to break up at this point: -Tascam Da-P1 + internal battery (last i checked it still held a charge) + power brick -Ecocharge charger (Beta series, i think) and 2 battery packs + the cable to connect to a DA-P1 power input The low end of what's been advertised online has been around 400, and with the batteries and shipping, this is a great deal for someone willing to invest in a little repair work by Tascam. Thanks to Karl for pointing out the errors of my ways... please reply offlist to will dot foy at gmail dot com. Thanks! > For sale, not auction, unless I have to...=3D3D20 > > 1) Tascam Da-P1 portable deck and wall-wart AC power/charger unit. > 2) the old Ecocharge system used to power it in the field, along with > its wall-wart. > > They're both collecting dust in my closet, as I've been a > laptop-recordist for a couple of years now. > > For the sake of full disclosure: the DA-P1 has some wear on the heads, > and it's quite likely the need to be replaced. They're in NYC tonight through 5/13. Rest of the tour schedule can be found at: http://bts.23.com If you record it and have the time, please send a setlist my way to help my effort to keep a history of BTS's live show. If you want help with setlists, drop me a line. Thanks, Mark in PDX PS: I'll b&p one responder my recording of BTS at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, 9/11/04 as bandwidth tax. Thanks again. ------------------------------ From: "Brian Dipert" Subject: Joshua Tree Music Festival ticket available Reply-To: Date: Wed, 11 May 2005 10:41:57 -0700 As it turns out, I'm not going to be able to go to this weekend's festival (www.joshuatreemusicfestival.com); ailing elderly dogs and a stressed-out spouse are a potent motivation to stick close to home. I have a two-day festival, one night camping permit combination that I've already bought; if anyone would be interested in it, I can fax you my PayPal printout as proof of purchase, along with a permission letter. Partial or full reimbursement of my expenses ($65) would be appreciated.
