Subject: taping Ted Leo
Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 22:18:42 GMT
Teddy is very open with taping. Go tape him! I've taped quite a few shows
in the Ohio and Michigan areas from '01-'03, havent taped him since May
Day '03 because he hasn't played my town (Columbus) since More Than Music
Fest 2000 and whenever he seems to play Clevo and Detroit usually seem to
conflict with work.
I'd love to get a copy if you end up taping him. I don't have quite as
many Teddy shows as Barry though, but I've got a variety of other random
stuff from all over the map. Everyone from An Albatross to Steve Earle
and such.

anybody get this on tape?? They didn't make this show available on there
website for download so I was hoping somebody out there taped it themself.
This was the first time in a long time Metallica came to Albany and I was
fortunate enough to see them this time. Most likely I won't see them live
in my area again. A tape of this show would be great! Thanks!

Sorry for the lack of dat content, but this made my hair stand up:
President Bush Approves Prison for Movie Pirates
On April 27, 2005, President Bush signed a bill into law that prohibits the
secret videotaping of movies when they are shown in theaters. In addition to
three years in prison, those found guilty of movie-pirating could face
lawsuits from copyright holders.
The law also toughens penalties for hackers and industry insiders who
distribute music, movies or other copyrighted works before their official release
dates.
Copies of hit movies frequently show up on the Internet while they are still
in theaters, allowing fans to see new releases without buying a ticket.
Pirates sneak camcorders into movie theaters to tape films directly off the
screen, and some industry insiders leak copies to hackers before they are
officially released. The U.S. Customs Department has estimated that distribution
groups like these are responsible for 95% of all pirated movies available online.
Dan Glickman, president of the Motion Picture Association of America, hailed
the enactment of the legislation, adding that, "Video piracy is not a
victimless crime."
International Herald Tribune, April 28, 2005 (Reuters)

Not that this necessarily applies to anyone on this list, but if you've ever
thought about it, have a second thought.
