Intersting bit off tech but has anyone used a Hi-MD recorder for the same thing....the Sony NH-1 has all the features that would be useful....
-backlit remote with adjustable levels
-line in/out for recording
-1 gig MD for about 93 minutes of uncompressed recording...

Seems like an alternative that satisfies most requirements......having said that I'm still sticking with my DAT.....

I recently taped a show, and my D8 is now officially busted.  Anyone
out there in the San Diego area able to do a quick digital transfer to
cd or .wav for me? I could kick down some cash or a 12 pack of your
choice.
A 90 minute show, by the way.

anton newcombe and the brian jonestown massacre threw it down last night for 
about 2 1/2 hours and the tape sounds wonderful.
lots of good songs and lots of anton newcombe expressing himself in his own 
special way.
MK4Vs>SX-M2>SBM1>D100 mics suspended from the ceiling about 10' back from 
the mains....
id like to trade for some HIGH QUALITY bjm recordings or 1990s material.
i also shot 90 minutes of b&w video from the stage and once i get someone to 
synch the audio to the vid, ill offer DVD as well.
