Hi All,
Charlie Sexton is playing a few gigs for the first time in a l o n g time
and it would be fantastic to hear what he's playing so if he's playing in a
town near you, and you're not busy that evening, please go and tape him. I
do not know his taping policy so it may have to be stealth taped. If anyone
can catch a show, please email me at thekenster7600@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Ah, yes. More marketing dribble that like most marketing dribble, contains biased and lots of misleading statements.
I think the best one is one of the lead off statements.
"PDAudio (priced at between $350 and $1200, depending on its configuration) and MicroTrack 24/96 (priced at under $400) are aimed at different segments of the audio recording market. PDAudio is aimed at the audio professional (sound studios, location recordists, Foley and sound effects recording professionals, radio and TV professionals) and semi-professional (musicians and sophisticated hobbyists), and offers the highest available sound quality and essentially unlimited features. In contrast, MicroTrack 24/96 is a recorder aimed at the sound-quality conscious mass market, a one-purpose recording device with limited recording quality and features."
Oh is that so? You actually have Foley and sound effect folks using the PDAudio? I'm sure at the end of the day, post has no problem with them turning in their CF card... that will be the day.
But, wait. I seem to recall a previous email that you mentioned to me that the PDAudio wasn't suppose to compete with the multi-track units like the 744, Deva, and Cantar. In fact, you even mention in another marketing driven comparison that "All of these recorders are starting to get popular for concert and general high-resolution audio field recording."
So, if I'm suppose to believe that the PDAudio is a professional device then I'm at a loss as to why you go on later in the same comparison to say "Sound Devices has announced two portable high-resolution audio recorders, both considerably more expensive than the four recorders compared here."
OK, but are we talking cost or quality? You seem to ding the MicroTrack pretty good because it only cost $399.
If you're really trying to say the PDAudio is designed for the professional market, then you really need to compare it with what the professionals are using, which would be the 722, Cantar, Deva, Fostex PD-6, etc.
Personally I have no issue with you doing what you want to do which is marketing, but when you start bringing it to this list as a true comparison, it should be just that, and not some marketing dribble filled with whatever it is that makes your product better than sliced bread.

Hi all
We taped Jeff Beck July 8th 2005 & July 9th 2005 in the following lineages:
1) cmc-8 > sp slim battery > TCD-D-8
2) okmR2 > ap3 > TCD-D100
( both mic & battery modified a little)
So we have two sources for each shows.
Now we are looking for other shows from the Jeff Beck 2005 Japan tour. Any
offer would be highly appreciated!!
Mickey

does anyone know if it's possible to transfer start
IDs from DAT to PC along with the audio? or generate a
.cue sheet off the IDs automatically? ...it works w/
standalone burners, but i guess wav files don't have
space for the subcode or whatever? what's the deal
with this exactly?
thanks to all,
rob

I'm in the process of getting married and moving and downsizing. I need to
get rid of my collection since I won't have the time to trade in the future.
I'd prefer to sell to one person but I'll take multiple buyers. If you're
interested, here's a link of what's up for grabs:
http://www.geocities.com/nirvanafan8/fs.txt
Email me if interested. We can work out the details then. Thanks!
I also have tons of other items FS including some VHS tapes, hockey cards,
guitar magazines, guitar tab books, college textbooks, etc....
It's a DAT-Heads Yard Sale!!
