Does anybody have any information on how this device uzes microdrives?
The specs say that it can use microdrives, but there is nothing further
on it. As someone on a budget, a microdrive is certainly a cheaper
solution than CompactFlash.

In regards to my question...I answered it myself. I guess I didn't know
what a microdrive entailed. Now I see that they are compat. with
CompactFlash devices. Sorry for the WOB.

regarding CD Wave as the best and easiest way for my friend to go.

Thanks to all who gave their advice on this. I've made the variable
attenuator - just waiting for an opportunity to use it.
A couple of people recommended using the in-line volume adjusters that are
sold for walkman headphones but I'm sure I've heard people on this list say
that they aren't really suitable for this use. If I stick one between my
CSBs and my D8, do I risk distressing my mics or will it do the job?
Thanks again,
John
