We are deeply saddened by the passing of this truly wonderful and beautiful man whose purpose in life on Earth was in spreading love and happiness to people, both through his music and through his generosity and light of spirit. Vassar indeed has touched the lives of so many of us, and we can all count ourselves as blessed to have been witness to the musical genius and kind-hearted nature of this great yet humble man. It is a great testament to a life when those whose paths you crossed hold you up as an example on how to treat others. Vassar's guestbook is that testament and shows how incredibly loved and admired Vassar was on this Earth by both those who knew him personally and those who knew him only through his music. I would like to thank Vassar's daughter Midge and son-in-law George on behalf of all of us that loved Vassar for the great love and care they have shown him since the passing of his wife Millie just over seven years ago. Selfless and devoted, they not only took care of Vassar emotionally and physically, but also jumped in and learned the music business so Vassar could continue to play for all of us around the country. I picture Vassar and Millie in heaven, reunited in the love they shared that transcends all things, him playing while she dances. Thank You Vassar - God Bless You. Rest In Peace. For actual professional work nothing can beat a good pair of condenser mics, that now can be got in mated pairs from many vendors in the USA, coming from Russia, China and other countries. It will all depend on how much you want to spend, where are you going to record it with (DAT, MD, etc.) and the interface you are going to use (mixer or preamp). Most condensers need a supply, that on some cases come with the stereo pair. Will this be a fully professional application or just for your use? If it's the latter you can give a try on those Squid. I had a pair for a while, but sold them onwards pretty quickly - they're ok but for a little more you can get a considerably better mic (Marantz EM-8, Sony ECM- xyz) IMHO. ------------------------------ From: "Sanjay M. If anyone is interested in picking this up, that would be great. I also have a couple hundred phish, moe., dead, and string cheese dats that I want to get rid of. My list is at phishhook.com/lists/thomasr22 I have most of the tapes on the list, but i'd really like to get rid of the whole bunch together. I'd like to either sell the tapes (as blanks) or trade them all for something. I'm interested in some nice canal/earphones like the sures, etymotics, westinghouse or the ultimate ears. So if anyone wants to trade some or all of the tapes and deck for some phones, let me know! thanks! thomas throbinsonjr@gmail.com ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
