From: Paula Karrer <paula.michelle@earthlink.net> Subject: Resurrecting my Denon DTR-80P Date: Mon, 22 Aug 2005 12:52:15 -0700 Hello DatHeads! I'm trying to resurrect my old DTR-80P and have some question regarding the connection cords (which I am not sure I can find). The owners manual says that 2 cords are supplied. I am assuming one is for Digital In/Out of the DAT to Coax in and out, and the other cord is for regular line out of the DAT to left and right line in. In the schematic picture the cords look exactly the same. Perhaps they are two of the same cord, each working for both purposes? I have found two cords in the closet here that resemble the picture. How do I tell which is which? Anyone own these cords? Do they say "Denon" on them anywhere? (so I can confirm I've found the correct cords - mine don't have any label) I have also found part no. 9C37010434 on Pacific Parts website, and it is labeled as a "connection cord." Which one is it? Basically I need someone who owns this machine and who has NOT lost the cords to remind me about all this... Desparate. Thanks. Paula
From: "Stephen Pzynski" <stejampzy@hotmail.com> Subject: CD liquidation Date: Mon, 22 Aug 2005 15:45:47 -0500 Hey all.... I have a few spindles of CD's I'm looking to find a nice home for. There are many, many high quality shows that I just don't have as much time to listen to anymore. Most of the bands are of the "jamband" ilk but there are few others mixed in. I don't plan on listing out all the shows separately, but would rather have someone just take a spindle. These are great for a newbie or someone just looking for a variety of music. I'd like a new spindle in return (even trade) and I'll pay shipping on yours when the new one arrives. Please let me know if interested and thanks!! Steve

Note that they have an extra ring on them that a standard 1/8 inch to RCA does not have. This isolates the S/PDIF's input ground and output ground which is usually not even necessary. I've used the DTR-80P's with plain old everyday radio shack 1/8 inch stereo to RCA cables without any problems before, but if you are patching in a chain at a show, the pedants with the $200 monster cables may complain. In fact, I loaned a DTR-80P to a friend to board-patch a show and they would not let him plug in because they claimed that the actual Denon cable was just a cheapo radio shack cable. -- Wayne D.
