I'd like to take some DATs recorded at 48K and copy them to DVD-R and keep the same audio quality as the DAT Master. Which means I need to use PCM correct? Because Dolby Digital AC3 is compressed audio. So far I've only found one way to do this and it's to create a Data DVD and create WAV files of the DATs. I think if I use a sound card that will accept an optical digital input it'll create a bit for bit WAV file of the Master DAT. Then I can copy the file to a Data DVD and Play it back whenever I want using my PC. But, is there anyway to create a DVD with an exact bit for bit clone of the audio from a DAT that will play on a home DVD player connected to a home audio system? I found a cheap DVD player that will play PAL format DVD's. It's the Koss KS4125. Can get it at most Sears stores. This unit has under 200 hours on it, was used gently, and never failed me in the field. New units go for $650-$899. You get the AC adapter, a 7-pin-to-coax cable, and a carrying case for the deck. I aslo just recently had the Pro-Digital cleaning/check done (January, haven't used i since). I'm looking for $400, but will consider reasonable offers for it.
