I have done so many times in the US and never encountered any problem. They seem to be more interested in confiscating my tiny toenail scissors, than even taking out my gear for inspection. (Seriously, I think it's only been looked at maybe once.) However, now I am planning a trip to the UK. I am concerned about security issues, especially in light of the recent London bombings. Would anyone be able to advise me on the following: 1) Airport security and customs procedures going to the UK (London-Gatwick) and back. 2) Venue security at British venues in general. The places I will be taping are smaller 1000-2000 seat halls. Many thanks, TT ------------------------------ From: Sean Walton Subject: Def Leppard/Bryan Adams DAT Masters Trade *Uncirculated* Reply-To: seanw@culthero.de Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2005 15:44:10 -0700 (PDT) Hello all, To celebrate my new arrival of a Sony home DAT deck (DTC-700), I'm offering up in trade to of my DAT recordings, which I've never shared with anyone before. As far as I know, no other recordings have circulated from this date. They are both very nice, the BA show came out just a little better, but I'd rate both in the 4-4.5 stars out of 5. I can clone these from my D8, SPDIF->Coaxial. I'd prefer to trade these at the moment as clones of my masters,as I really don't have time to convert to CDR. Please contact me offlist with your list of master recordings. I'd prefer to trade as "SP" mode, no "LP". We could trade on 90 min. dats, or DDS tape, whichever you prefer. Please see bandwidth abuse tax below. I am looking for an audience recording of the Tom Petty show, second night at Irving Plaza. I already have the SBD. I would like to make a SBD+AUD mix. Came out great for the first night. You can snag the night before 4/11/99 right now. The SBD+AUD matrix mix is available here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=60643 The DTS-Audio-CD 5.1 version is available here: http://www.onemoresolo.net/torrents-details.php?id=518 Please help if you can, ask around. There has got to be an AUD tape somewhere. Take it Easy, F-Off Rita! Disc 1 and disc 2 can be assembled seamlessly on longer media. There was an audible line buzz running throughout the SBD recording. This was likely not going over the PA as the buzz is not apparent on either of the AUD sources. The SBD DAT recording continued to run after the feed from the SBD had ended and the buzz continued. This leads me to concluded it was a line feed problem. Bad cable possibly? Because the recording continued after the music ended a perfect recording of the buzz was recorded. This allowed me to accurately capture and then remove the noise throughout the recording very accurately without disturbing the fidelity of the recording. This was done with Soundforge 8.0 using the highest quality setting. The 2 AUD tapes made that night were from similar locations as you can hear the same 'cat calls', claps, etc. on both recordings. However the 2 recordings still blended well together and had different and unique sounds. ========================================================= Additional Formats This show is available in the following formats: 1. SBD + AUD1 + AUD2 DVD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound ========================================================= More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files. ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
