Unfortunately it won't be available to order online since the Philharmonic wanted $1000,000 to tape their performance. I don't have any DCD to trade, I'm sure we culd work something out. Thanks - Mark ------------------------------ From: "MarkS Barnett" Subject: wind screens Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2005 17:42:27 +0000 I was watching hurricaine coverage last weekend and was impressed by the fact that there was no noticable wind noise, even though these people were standing in 40 plus mph winds. Any idea what they use, where to get 'em, what effect they have on sound quality? Thanks flarcus ------------------------------ From: alf Subject: Re: Robert Cray taping updates Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2005 21:35:34 +0200 Richard wrote: >Robert Cray is still VERY anti-taping, i >spoke w/ the man hisself for a good five minutes on >the subject of Alan Lomax. ========================= At least Alan Lomax taped great musicians and preserved great music I attended Pistoia Blues festival (Italy) last july , was in first row, and Robert Cray was the worst set of that night. He played like an enployer, no soul, no feelings. He changed guitars after every song played.(several stratocasters, several telecasters, one was an aluminium model , with two beautiful matchless amplifiers) but, was a very boring show. .alf ------------------------------ From: J Levene Subject: is there a DVD FAQ or someone that is knowledgable? Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2005 13:20:20 -0700 (PDT) I am looking for information and guidance on purchasing a DVD recorder with a built in hard drive. Something like the Panasonic DMREH50S. My desires are to import from my old VHS & camcorder tapes to the hard drive, edit and create chapters and then burn it to DVD. Any suggestions on products I should look at are appreciated. Once I get something burned, I'll offer it to the list. thanks John __________________________________ Yahoo! I use AKG C1000s for mics (internally powered), and used to use a Sony D7 that broken repeatedly. It looked like the JB3 was a great and inexpensive solution, but it is no longer sold. Is there any similar (and inexpensive ~$200 or less) new hard drive/memory based solution being sold? I thought using my sub-notebook with a USB input might be an alternative. M-Audio Transit USB looks good (and cheap!). I searched the dat-head archives but couldn't find any reviews/thoughts on the unit. Could someone please advise me on the recording quality of the Transit USB? Thanks so much! Jason __________________________________ Yahoo!
