(Darren R) Thanks for M-Audio info ("STACEY RITCHIE") ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: ericBowne Subject: M-Audio's MicroTrack 24/96? Date: Wed, 05 Oct 2005 12:27:23 -0400 I have seen the MT 2496 in action.. It was used to record a spdf signal at 16 bit 44.1k to a 4 gig flash card without issue. It recorded the first set fine.. then was ready to go on the second set, but froze up upon hitting the record button (others have had this problem). This is avoided by shutting down and rebooting the unit between recording sessions. Early testing by others has shown that it will not accept a 24 bit digital signal, however m audio is going to release a firmware update to correct this. I also know that there is some concern over the phantom power voltages that the MT2496 puts out. It was advertised early on as passing 48v, however it actually only delivers 30v. I dont know how you were planning on running it (digi in? analog in? line in? mic in?).. So I cant be too specific in my reply. I can also say that the internal battery has not been fully tested by the beta testers.. I have seen runtimes with phantom on in the three hour range, but dont know how long it will go without phantom. This issue doesnt really matter cause you can run the MT2496 with an portable usb battery. ericB ============================================================================ From: "STACEY RITCHIE" Subject: M-Audio's MicroTrack 24/96? Date: Tue, 04 Oct 2005 15:08:44 -0400 I see the MicroTrack is being shipped by several retailers. Just wondering if anyone here actually has one and could give us a review? Will a 2GB flash card be enough for recording a two hour show? I'm looking at both the Edirol R-1 and the MicroTrack as a replacement recorder, and would like some user info. Thanks. I'm sorry to spam the list with this. Thanks, Alex ------------------------------ From: Darren R Subject: Dat Deck for Sale!! Date: Wed, 5 Oct 2005 20:36:07 -0700 (PDT) Need to sell my [6/1/97] Sony DTC-60ES {D126?} $1300 list, Super-bit-mapping a/d. 3 Motor transport. 44.1 kHz from analog, fast search (200/400x), direct track access, remote control DAT deck. The deck has a jammed door and hence before I do something silly like put it up on Ebay I will offer it to the list for $400 or best offer, the thing listed for $1300 back in the day. I got impatient with a tape coming out one night and jammed the door in the process. My DAT buddies say its an easy fix. I havent used it in 2 years, its been in storage. When it was not jammed I did not put a lot of miles on it, as I have a Sony D8 and I use to just tape and go right into the computer that way after a while. So it really only got about 2 years of use and I bought it in 1997 so its in really nice shape. First $400 or best offer takes it Also a garage of tapes was stolen from me by a mentally ill buddy of mine who use to share a shed with me for our DATs and CDs. Alot of Allman Bros, CSNY, Little Feat etc went in that theft as well as stuff like Bruce Springsteen and Stones so if I may use this as an opp to grovel I will!! LOL!!! I got to sell this deck guys, Im gonna tape the Stones in a couple of weeks, so I will make the tapes available to the list if someone grabs it, please dont be afraid to make a reasonable offer, remember it does need some TLC so thats why the price is low. This was a very sought after deck back in the day for a couple of features it had. Like super-biy mapping so its a great one!! - Yours Darren PS Gold Star PayPal Merchant so I will accept Paypal on verified accounts etc. ______________________________________________________ Yahoo! for Good Donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/ ------------------------------ From: "STACEY RITCHIE" Subject: Thanks for M-Audio info Date: Thu, 06 Oct 2005 08:51:32 -0400 Thanks so much to everyone that provided info on the M-Audio MicroTrack. The response was overwhelming and much appreciated. There is a lot of interest and curiosity in this device. Hope it will eventually live up the hype.
