Speaking of Dead Can Dance, does anyone know about the taping policy at
Chicago's Auditorium Theater? Going to the Oct 12 show and thinking of
trying to tape. Much security checking there?
Thanks!
Bob

Hi Bob : )
It is stealth, but security is allegedly very lax there from what i've hear=
d....
I know of someone taping this gig, who's been there and is very
confident of getting video equipment in + filming.
I wouldnt worry, and good luck!

i am house cleaning and have a bunch of vhs, beta and dat units. the
ones with transport problems i am trashing. several machines accepted
tapes + played them, but there was no pb level or pix. i have used head
cleaning tapes for years. i decided to take the covers off and and use
a tech wipe and cleaning fluid to manually clean the heads. this got
some of the units working again. if you have this problem, you might
want to try and manually clean your heads.

i have had several of these throughout the yrs. i always got them cheap
or for free. they were always close to new with very little use. they
all had problems. you could not put a 90m tape in. every other time
you put a 60m tape in you would get an error message. cycling the power
worked sometime. i have just taken the last da30 out of my rack. of
all the dat recorders i have owned, these were the worst. anyone else
have these problems with this model?

Mic2496 is designed to provide up to 4 milliamps total of 48 Volt
phantom power. That's more than enough for the large majority of
microphones. Its voltage will not drop below a nominal 48 Volts as long
it is not asked to provide more than its specified current. If you see
the voltage drop, it means that your mics require more current than it
can supply -- you should not use those mics with Mic2496 unless you
power them from an external Phantom Power supply like our new 2Phant.
In contrast, MicroTrack 24/96 was designed to provide only 30 Volts with
no load, a rather odd voltage for phantom power -- no other manufacturer
that I know uses that voltage. And when loaded even lightly, its
voltage drops rather dramatically.

Just got a call from my son, August, in Seattle telling me he caught
Leo & Mike Sunday night at the Moore Theater. I realize it may be kinda
early to be grovelin' for this but I turned him on to Leo some 20 or 25
years ago and just happened to see that they were playing again while
browsing pollstar Sunday afternoon and saw that they were playing that night,
but figured a couple hours notice might not give him enough time so
I didn't call him with a heads up on it. Turns out he's already had tickets
for some time. :-) Anyway I have 3 fine shows that they did from the
11/02 Clone shows for trade, plus a couple of masters of Leo solo that I
made here at the Paramount Theater here in Austin in 03 & 04, or a few
hundred hours of other stuff to offer in trade. I don't trade or tape much
anymore, but would really like to get a copy of this show for my boy.
So if ya got this one, please let me know and I'll shoot you my list. Thanks.

Hello all,
I have two tickets to see the above bands on the
10/30/05 show at the Plush in Jasksonville, Florida.
I will be unable to attend these shows and was hoping
to find them a home with someone who would tape the
show. No charge for the tickets - I only ask for a
copy of the recordings in return. If anyone is
interested please let me know and we can work out any
details.
Thanks.
peace,
ts
