From: Clark Guy <guy.clark@siemens.com> Subject: MIC2496 and microphone current draw Date: Thu, 13 Oct 2005 11:45:02 -0500 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< From: David & Irma Holtkamp <holtkamp@mindspring.com> Subject: MIC2496 and microphone current draw Date: Thu, 13 Oct 2005 07:28:56 -0600 Hi Guy, I've had very good luck with MK-012s for symphonic and choir recordings, with both cardioid and hypercardioid elements. I stayed away from the omni's for that venue because of the overpowering nature of the auditorium acoustics. No idea on the preamp draw, unfortunately. If you learn what it is, please post it for the rest of us. I really like these mikes... Best wishes, David Holtkamp Los Alamos, NM HIi, David! I"ve had good luck with my Nakamichi CM-300s, using the omni capsules, generally on the stage a few feet to either side of the conductor, especially if I get them up high in the air, like 12 feet. However, I generally use them with the cardioid capsules, in the RIAS setup (slightly wider spacing than ORTF) The Oktavas looked like a reasonable way to get a pretty good mic, that's phantom powered and allows interchangeable capsules. I'm glad you're happy with them for orchestral use, since that's primarily what I'd be using them for. Heck, I use Kiev cameras, why not Oktava microphones? Maybe I can get Santa to bring me a set of matched mics and capsules... ;-) I can always make a phantom power injector box if they pull more than the DC/DC converter in the MIC2496 can supply. Thanx!!! Guy <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>
From: Darren R <timewaitsforno1@yahoo.com> Subject: Pre-FMs?????? Date: Thu, 13 Oct 2005 10:24:17 -0700 (PDT) In the 90s I bought up several DJ pre-FMs of live concerts, interviews and music etc, a buddy of mine use to cut the commercials out and make some crispy DATs out of them. Well, Im getting divorced and its time for the pre-FMs to go and my SONY ES 60 (which I will sell at a very good price the thing cost $1300 new) so please if your into DAT decks and great quality sources for DAT tapes email me here at timewaitsforno1@yahoo.com, I do not know what the Ebay policy is on these and I emailed them and they could not give me a straight answer. So if your interested in pre-FMs (I got some goodies, Clapton, Page/Plant, Stones etc) look me up - Yours Darren __________________________________ Yahoo! From: stephen dorsch <stephdor14@yahoo.com> Subject: FS: Sony PCM-R500 home deck Reply-To: sdorsch@gmail.com Date: Thu, 13 Oct 2005 15:44:47 -0700 (PDT) Howdy, I have Sony PCM-R500 home deck that I am looking to sell. I'm new to this list but used to subscribe to digi-phish back in the day (is this the same list?) The deck was used sparingly and exclusively for playback for several years and is in very good shape. I'm selling it because I have been out of the live recording scene for a little while now and feel that its time to get rid of the one of my home decks. I originally bought the deck for $1200 and would like to get around $700 for it, but I'll entertain all offers. Please send any questions and offers to me at: stephdor14@yahoo.com Thanks!!!
