From: tom groff <tdg455@yahoo.com> Subject: fanny packs, sneaking gear in. Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 10:21:53 -0700 (PDT) "Prolly wouldn't work at the House of Blues in Chicago where they're little bitches about bags, but it worked in this case." HOB in Chicago had no problem when I went with a fashionable fanny pac. Even after looking right at my tapes and mics! Sometimes I even get lazy and leave my dat recorder right there to see. Once I brought 2 decks in, my girlfriend went in with one in her purse ahead of me. They looked at it and let her in. Same with me. For the most part I think a lot of venues are more worried about weapons, alcohol, drugs, and video. and in that order. I notice a lot of venues are giving up on not allowing cameras, so I think many times audio gets overlooked. I think a lot of times they just dont know what they are looking at too. Considering that half the cellphones, and a significant fraction of PDAs, are also cameras, do they really want to discourage that much business? Seth

It's the last show on their "Farewell to the kings of Rock" tour and I'm seeking someone with a decent rig who can go and tape this show. Video anyone? Audio is fine also. I will cover ticket costs, blank dat/dv tape etc. Usually this band is taper friendly so unless there is something out of the ordinary, you can probably ask and get permission. If you haven't heard these guys before, info, mp3s and video clips can be found on their official site: www.gluecifer.com If you are into rock at all, I'm 100% certain you'll love this show!! Thanks! -Per
