You have to be a member of the Illuminati or a 33rd Degree Mason. Try to
befriend someone in the Tri-Lateral commission, or join a local Masonic
lodge. Once you lean the secret handshake and password, all the tapes are
kept at Area 51.

Subject: DVD-Audio ISO rip
Date: Fri, 18 Nov 2005 12:22:32 -0500
Hello,
It appears as if I have a problem making an ISO (image file) of a few of
my own, personally authored, DVD-Audio's. Using DVD Dycryptor and am
have a 25% fail rate ripping from my master DVDR.
My questions are thus.
1. Is there any other methods of making an exact copy of a DVD-Audio?
2. Different software for creating an image file?
3. As anyone else had problems ripping ISO's of DVD-Audio's?
4. Is there a better authoring technique I can use that will insure a
good ISO rip every time?
This has left me with the horrible task of re-authoring many of my 5.1
DVD-Audio's. Which is very time consuming but not all bad as when I go
to re-do the DVD-A I can make a few tweaks and inevitable have a better
version. But sometimes I just want to rip an ISO for a friend.
Dan
BWT- Email address and I will send to a few folks at random.
This is a DVD-Audio I can make a perfect ISO rip and is one that is
authored exactly the way I like it.

Tech Notes
FLACs were decoded to wave and SF 8.0 was used to reassemble
the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align &
synch all 3 sources. Soundforge 8.0 was used to remove a line
buzz that ran throughout the SBD source. CEP2.0 was used to
create all multichannel mixdown matrix mixes (phew). CEP2.0
used to adjust the volume for the center, LFE and surround
channels. DiscWelder used to author and create the DVD-Audio
in 5.1. This incorporates 6 channels of 16/44 wave files.

Notes
This 5.1 mix utilizes 5 fully discrete channels.
There was an audible line buzz running throughout the SBD
recording. This was likely not going over the PA as the buzz
is not apparent on either of the AUD sources. The SBD DAT
recording continued to run after the feed from the SBD had
ended and the buzz continued. This leads me to concluded it
was a line feed problem. Bad cable possibly? Because the
recording continued after the music ended a perfect recording
of the buzz was recorded. This allowed me to accurately
capture and then remove the noise throughout the recording
very accurately without disturbing the fidelity of the
recording. This was done with Soundforge 8.0 using the
highest quality setting.
The 2 AUD tapes made that night were from similar locations
as you can hear the same 'cat calls', claps, etc. on both
recordings. However the 2 recordings still blended well
together and had different and unique sounds.

Additional Formats
This show is available in the following formats:

2. SBD + AUD1 + AUD2 Matrix Mix at 16/44 CD-Audio
3. SBD + AUD1 + AUD2 Matrix Mix at 24/96 DVD-Audio
4. SBD + AUD1 + AUD2 DTS-Audio-CD 5.1 Surround Sound
5. SBD + AUD1 + AUD2 DVD-Audio 5.1 Surround Sound

More On DVD-Audio 5.1
Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel
sound, like DTS, Dolby Digital, SACD and DVD-A. You will
need a DVD-Audio compatible DVD player to listen to this
5.1 mix.
Burning Instructions
Use DVD burning software and choose create a DVD video
option. Click on the Audio_TS folder (instead of the
Video_TS usually selected) and insert the contents of this
folder. This will likely not pass compliance but continue
with the burn anyway.
