The only useful bit from the market posting (aside from the fact that
you got a very good price, on a 10-year-old deck design) is that it
supposedly has error count available, if you have a Service Remote.

SCMS is irrelevant when copying to CD through a computer.

Hello,
you can download audacity, a ***free*** digital audio editor. I've been
using it for more than one year and I'm very satisified. It is very reliable
and stable. Just the graphical interface is not very nice (IMO) but this is
a minor problem...

I am looking for anyone who has copies of, or has taped, the recent
Strokes performance in Tokyo on November 18th. Please email me ASAP if
you have this information. Thank you!
PS, If you also know anyone who might've taped them during their
October South American tour that would be great as well. I have plenty
of Strokes masters.

Hi Steve,
I'd suggest you take a look at WaveRepair
(http://www.delback.co.uk/wavrep/) which is a freeware/shareware tool to
edit 16 bit WAV files, split them, combine them, adjust volumes, etc. It is
mostly intended for use when recording LPs with sound cards, but is very
easy to use and quite capable. I use it a lot when I don't want to fool
around with my copy of Cakewalk for simple tasks.
Best wishes,
