Hello!
I'm a Bruce collector and I would like to trade high quality Bruce
live DAT tapes (please no copies from Bootlegs); I'm expecially
interested in tapes from 1970-1990.
I hope somebody can help me
Ciao

Subject: DSD Recording
Date: Sun, 29 Jan 2006 15:32:50 -0800 (PST)
Hello all,
I just wanted to do a quick report on DSD recording
for tapers. I purchased a Tascam DV-RA1000 DSD
recorder and am powering it and a Hamptone tube amp
off a 12v SLA and a exeltech inverter. I've been
using a Stephen Paul Audio modified AKG-C33e stereo
mic.
DSD recording combined with the other goodies in the
signal path have been working great. DSD must impart
some type of coloration in the sound during recording
that transfers even when finally converting to PCM for
distribution.
I would say most of all it's very vinyl sounding even
when listening to an mp3 of the recording.
It's a bitch to haul around, I've got every thing in a
rolling rackmount case so that helps. But I couldn't
stress enough, if you're young and can haul the
weight, the results are amazing.
Here's a link to a mp3 from my favorite recording with
the rig:
http://www.archive.org/download/glen2005-08-30.dsd.flac/glen2005-08-30set2t09_vbr.mp3
The whole show is availible at :
http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=28783&from=BA
Check it out, and if you're in the market for some new
gear consider taking the DSD plunge!
peace, chris

Early spring cleaning generated a bunch of DATs that I'd like to find new
homes for. Would like to trade these for a few good 70's Dead shows on cdr
(shn or FLAC OK) or some blank CD-R media. Contact me off list at
pnjbeichert@frontiernet.net
Thanks - Paul

This used to happen to me when I would try and add tag
information at the same time as the conversion. I
never noticed any sound issues arising from this.
Since then I have been using a tag application called
mp3tag found at http://www.mp3tag.de/
I hope this helps
