I need a decent recorder for stealthing, recording conferences, and the
like. The new MAudio looks attractive, but I haven't seen any reviews yet.
Any feedback on this and the low end Marantz solid state recorders?


Don't disregard the new line of portable mini-disc that use no
compression for recording.

High-capacity discs are $7 each and can take a lot. It may take
many years for ss cards to get there, and they use compression.

Portable size is a winner too.

Main advantage of M-Audio Microtrack 24/96 is that it has balanced mic
inputs, but I haven't read a hands-on test till now.

i am looking to purchase a compact schoeps stealth package.  some place
i saw one system that had one small power supply that had 2 cables to
the mic end and a mini stereo 1/8" to the rec.  i also would need a bass
cut because of the environments i am usually in.  if you have a system
now or anticipate selling one in the future, please contact:
