question about the pre in my setup ("Todd Norman") OT: ATI HDTV Wonder (josh@unified-tech.com) FT: Beth Orton 3-20-06 ("Jason C.") Indie / Folk: Annie Bethancourt and Spider (Mike M)
From: "Todd Norman" <norma023@tc.umn.edu> Subject: question about the pre in my setup Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 10:49:23 -0600 Hello! Just ordered a SP-PREAMP to use in my stealth setup, which will be real soon: Core Sound Stealth Cards > CS BB > SP-PREAMP > D7 Was wondering if there's a way to eliminate the battery box at all for this setup (as that pre should provide power for the mics)? Either some type of an adapter for the mini 3 pin XLR the mics have, or perhaps getting a mod for the mics so that they terminate to only an 1/8" plug? Anyone know ?? TIA! From: "Jason C." <jason.coble@comcast.net> Subject: FT: Beth Orton 3-20-06 Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 16:16:03 -0700 Hi All, I have the above show for trade. Fits on two discs. Sound is good. Any help with a setlist would be appreciated, I'm not familiar with this artist. I'd prefer to trade for a different artist. Here's the source: Sennheiser ME2's > Sound Professionals battery box with roll-off at 888Hz > Microtrack 24/96 (44.1khz, 16 bit) > USB 2.0 > Sound Forge > Cool Edit 2K > CD Wave > CDR Thanks, Jason Coble
From: Mike M <eupeptic@gmail.com> Subject: Indie / Folk: Annie Bethancourt and Spider Date: Wed, 22 Mar 2006 07:34:41 -0800 If anyone here is interested in checking out a couple solo singer/songwriters, then here are some free shows (except where noted) that Annie Bethancourt and Spider (Jane Herships) will be doing in the East: Thu, 3/23 - Providence, RI - Cafe Zog Fri, 3/24 - Greenfield, MA - Cafe Koko Sat, 3/25 - Easthampton, MA - Night Owl Records Mon, 3/27 - Boston, MA - Zeitgeist Gallery Tue, 3/28 - Cambridge, MA - All Asia Bar - $3 cover Fri, 3/31 - South Orange, NJ - The Goat Cafe Sat, 4/1 - Philadelphia, PA - The Coffee Connection Sun, 4/2 - Brooklyn, NY - Pete's Candy Store They're both taper-friendly, and Annie's on archive.org (and Jane will be too as soon as I get around to having her added (I spoke to her in January when Annie and her were touring the Bay Area, and she's open to it)). And if you have the necessary equipment you could create an SBD/AUD matrix (just get there before they start performing (they usually arrive about 15 minutes before they're on) and let them know what you'd like to do). And Annie likes to throw you back in your seat with her voice, while Jane likes to pull you in to her music with her quiet, soft voice (and good guitar playing). http://members.tripod.com/danewbie/locations.txt - more details (note that some details such as the stated times they'll be playing vary depending on the source you're looking at, so I've collected everything here and will be updating it if there are still any inaccuracies). http://www.anniebeth.com / http://www.myspace.com/anniebethancourt http://spidersongs.net / http://www.myspace.com/spidersongs Also, I really want to thank everyone who has taped any of Tristan Prettyman's shows! (even though I haven't gotten back to everyone yet as I'd like to send her the whole bunch of recordings at once, but she keeps coming back to SF every few months - so I tend to put things off for later... :) (It's especially wonderful to receive things that you're really hoping for, but not expecting to receive at all.)
