("MRS STEPHANIE NKOSI") ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Subject: dead dat Date: Fri, 7 Apr 2006 09:58:45 -0400 My PCM 1 appears to have given up the ghost - when FF'ing a new tape, about half way through, it started moaning and groaning and came to a stop, then unloaded. All subsequent attempts would cause a tape to load, but as soon as I tried to play, ff, rew, anything - it would unload. Any ideas? Any place anyone can recommend for repairs? Lastly (warning: heresy to follow) - I'm now at the point where I'm seriously considering other medium like the MicroTrack which records up to 24bit and 96K on portable medium which can hold 3hours... Anybody use this or others (like Edirol) and have advice? The MicroTrack is going for $400 brand new at J&R in NYC, used DAT's are still going for 4-600 on ebay, plus tapes, etc.. any advice would be greatly appreciated Joe ------------------------------ From: "Patrick Warner" Subject: Neko Case...
