Namaste Y'all,
i am fortunate enough to be taking a trip to Cuba this
Thursday and in addition to numerous other matters i
am hoping to hit some great venues and archive some
amazing players. We will be crossing the island from
Havana to Sanitago. For those that have been there,
have personal experieince recording or just plain in
the know i ask of you three humble questions:
For the life of me i can't seem to translate "Can i
record you for non-commercial purposes and i'll send
you a copy" into Spanish :)
What are some good venues to hit for more tradtional
"son" and the like [outside of the "Casa de la Trovas"
which i am aware of].
And i can't seem to find a listing of "upcoming
shows".
Pollstar seems to have been programed to carry Cuban
listings but over the past month i have found none.
thanks
and
happy trails
richard

the best sound.
My old friend got them directly from the taper a long time ago. But
his DAT deck is very,
very old and broken. So he gave me them.
If anyone taped the Neil's shows (or has the original masters),
please reply privately. I
also have a lot stuff of M>dat (or M>cdr) to trading.
Hiro
