Hi,

I have a Metallica Soundboard DAT from Jakobshalle
Basel, Switzerland 20th June 1993. Sound is stunning
except there appear to be some dropouts in the 
recording. Does anybody have a clean copy they'd 
like to trade or a copy they could offer to perhaps
form a good composite copy ?

I'm in search of a tiny item and I'm hoping someone here can help me.  Long 
before the upgraded soundboard (possibly pre-FM?) became the definitive source 
of the 7/2/71 Dead set at the closing week of Fillmore West, there was an FM 
broadcast version in common circulation.  That FM version contained a little 
sequence of stage banter right before they begin that amazing version of 
Cryptical/Other One. I forget which band member was talking (I think Phil maybe?) but 
they say something along the lines of "This next one is dedicated to Owsley 
who was released from jail today and we hope he's out there listening tonight." 
 

It may have been slightly different wording but does anyone else remember 
this?  It is not included on the commonly circulating source these days but it 
was there on that original FM broadcast.  Is there anyone here who still has 
that older FM version that could possibly send me a wav or high quality mp3 of 
just that little sequence?  If you can help, please drop me a line.   Stu
