From: "Andy Goldstein" <andy@thiswheelsonfire.com> Subject: Capture streaming video ?? Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 15:48:38 -0400 Sorry to waste the bandwidth of this list...Feel free to reply to me offline. Can anyone recommend software (free or for purchase) which can capture streaming video (all forms) so that it can be burned to a DVD (NTSC) ? I use Total Recorder to capture streaming video and love it. I was told I could do the following to capture streaming audio and burn it but it appears I need several different types of software to capture and convert. 1. Captured with WM Recorder (as .rm) 2. Converted to .mpg with TMPGEnc 3.0 express (in both 320x240 & 640x480 in a DVD 720x576 PAL format) 3. No sound with (2.), so used RaWave to get the sound from the .rm. 4. Muxed .mpg & .wav streams with virtualdub-mpg to uncompressed .avi. 5. compressed avi to .mpg with MainConcept Mpeg encoder. 6. Authoured to DVD THANKS..Andy andy@thiswheelsonfire.com
From: angie pomeroy <angiepomeroy@yahoo.com> Subject: Tech Question Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 18:20:39 -0700 (PDT) I recently taped at ACL festival and often stopped tape between shows. When I fast forward to 2nd show it says blank and i don't find anything fast forwarding and playing. But, when I go to end of tape and rewind it goes to last show recorded. Ex: taped 3 different bands to save tape used a 90m on LP using a Sony Dat. Any suggestions why this occurs? I am listening to shows and will post what I have and what came out by the end of the week. wm __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! The easiest thing to do is just play the tape through, recording onto a second tape. To avoid that, when a show ends, keep recording, but turn off the input (so the level goes to 0). Record for another minute or two, then rewind partway back before starting to record again. Seth
