I suggest cropping the start of the file to where you want audio to begin, then engaging the SNAP ON. -tom Digestifier wrote: > DAT-heads Digest #958, Volume #7 Sun, 1 Oct 06 13:50:01 EDT > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > From: Richard Levy > Subject: Mac editing programs question > Date: Sat, 30 Sep 2006 14:31:13 -0400 > > How does one avoid sector boundary problems? In my case I deal with film & video recordings, where DAT was until recently the best option. Even small Sony types, like the D7 or D8, were a great option. Now DAT types hard harder to find, and I ended up using MD as a second option. In this case mostly as a backup for audio tracks in cameracorders, which are not that great. My Sharp MD did great recordings when used like that. Recently Sony released a PCM MD type, but has some irritating defaults, like for going into manual recordings you have to go through several menus... EVERY TIME you press stop! I wonder where do these engineers learn their stuff. So I am looking for another option, that is cheap enough and can be used for such purposes. Something like the M-Audio 24/96 or similar. Has anyone been using these card-type recorders? Are they reliable? How do you backup these cards or onto what do you back them up? Computers are not an option, because I am looking for location equipment and cheap media if possible. Of course then PCM MD media is an option, and then the mentioned Sony problem is not much of an issue. I have a lifetime supply of dats (decks and tapes). But I'm switching to PDAudio on an Axim; 4GB SD cards last a while, and are easily copied to a computer later (and much faster than dat, too).
