(rappard@dds.nl) sector boundary errors (SBE) fixes ("Dat Head") Re: Portable rec DAT replacements (Carlos Martinez) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Mike Parker Subject: edirol fa66 & emac Date: Mon, 2 Oct 2006 11:45:43 -0700 (PDT) I am trying to input my dats to the computer, so I bought a Edirol FA-66 firewire device. Doesn't seem to want to work properly with my emac (osx10.3..9, 800mhzPowerPCG4). I searched around the net and found a lot of others had problems with the Apple drivers. I get a signal to the computer, I can see the meters moving in the Sound preferences input, but there's no sound from the speakers (they are set for onboard audio output). Can't record in Sound Studio either, even though the input is set to this device. Recording with line In and Microphone work fine though. Anyone else had any experience with this problem? thank you, Mike Parker __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I got very good recommendations from Michael Mayer and Stephen Bezruchka. They both recommend the Edirol R-09, and Michael suggested the Zoom H4, which seems to gather the best things in all portable units I looked into: the M-Audio 24/96, the Marantz PMD660 and the Edirol R-09. The price is even the lowest! It's not out yet, but B&H is already accepting orders. Thanks for the feedback.
