In response to my previous DAT-Heads post:

Special thanks to Charlie Miller for tech support!

After working with Charlie over the phone, I decided
to switch out the VX Pocket cable and PCMIA card with
a slightly older model of VX Pocket (card & cable),
and I still had no luck.

I then switched DAT machines from a Tascam DA40 to a
Sony DTC-A8, and Samplitude and the VX Pocket now seem
to be functioning correctly in Data Mode.

I guess there is a voltage issue with the Tascam DA40
where the VX Pocket will not even see the SPDIF
signal.
