Hi,
I'm trying to find someone in Philly who
can tape a radio broadcast this coming Saturday or Monday.
It's a one hour mini concert with Lindsey Buckingham.
I'd like to get it on CD or DAT if possible.
If you can help please email me direct.
bigjazzfan@cableone.net
Thanks, bjf

I'm trying to locate folks who can record the following Los Lobos shows
in Florida the weekend after Thanksgiving:

12/1/06 Sunrise Theatre, Fort Pierce, FL
I can get you on the guestlist +1 for any of these shows you can record
for me - please get in touch if you can make it. Thanks!

Please tell me one of those terrific CA tapers made an AUD recording of
this nice Paul Simon show.

I already have a nice copy of the circulating SBD recording and would
love to mix it with an AUD. The SBD is extremely dry but clear as a
bell. A terrific candidate for a matrix as well as a 5.1 surround sound
version.
BWT - I will send this out to a few folks for the asking, no B no P.

Tech Notes
FLACs were decoded to wave. Wavmerge was used to reassemble
the tracks back to 1 long wave. CEP2.0 was used to align &
synch both sources. SF8.0 was used for the EQ setting pre
mixdown. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to encode to DTS.
This incorporates 6 channels of 16/44 wave files.

- FLAC conversion 28-OCT-2006
- Artwork at 300dpi by dan@am-dig.com
- For best results print at the highest resolution onto glossy
photo paper. Design for use in a clear double jewel case.

Notes
The FM suffers from the highly compressed FM signal used
here in the US. This has a dramatic effect on the dynamic
range. By mixing with the AUD I was able to re-introduce
a somewhat decent amount of dynamic range. This also was
helpful in increasing clarity and detail. Prior to the
multitrack mixdown I preformed some filtering on the FM.
Attempting to highlight the vocals and the upper top
end, something that was lacking on the AUD. Then mixing
together the result is a nice listen and less tiring on
the ears than the straight FM and a brighter, broader
frequency response than the straight AUD.
Disc 1 and 2 can be assembled seamlessly on longer media
d2t02 the first 15 seconds of the drum intro is entirely
from the AUD source. I used a number of edits; volume, EQ
and some limiting along with a 4 second crossfade to make
the source change sound as smooth as possible. I also
borrowed about 5 seconds of crowd cheer from a different
between song portion. Without this notation it would be
easy to go by undetected.
Both sources had different cuts between several songs on
disc 2. These interruptions have been edited to audible
non-existence.

More On DTS
Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound
like DTS, Dolby Digital and DVD-Audio. While the Audio-CD
standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new
sound formats, it is still possible to go around the
specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a
regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect
your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial)
to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that
your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio-CD, so the first
time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do
a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very
low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER
listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs
of your CD/DVD player.
Burning Instructions
Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal
Audio-CD from FLAC files.
