I have fixed 5 or 10 such tapes over the years, also used to do the same wi=
th cassette tapes back in the day. =0A=0ATake the tape apart, VERY CAREFULL=
Y, and use scotch tape to put the 2 broken ends of tape back together. An e=
xacto knife, razor blade, or similar will help. Be sure to tape the back si=
de of the tape, the side that does not touch the DAT heads. (ha ha, Dat hea=
ds!) =0A=0AOr use an old DAT shell, maybe from a cleaning tape or something=
, and separate the 2 spools of tape (if the tape broke somewhere in the mid=
dle then you have some tape on each spool, right?). =0A=0AIn any case that'=
s about the only options. It works, but there will be digi noise where the =
splice occurs. =0A=0AGood luck! =0A=0Awilson=0A =0A"The greatest price of r=

Does anyone out there have either of these shows and feel like sharing?
I have nothing for 11.14.03 but am sure it was taped, so I'm just
hoping to hook up with the right folks.
As for 8.23.05, all I have is the first set as the second one DNC due
to extensive diginoise/static. 1st set is some of my favorite 2005
MMW.
Have scores and scores of MMW to offer in return.
TIA,
Mike

That's generally considered the better option. You'll lose a few
seconds at the break, but there won't be any tape or tape gunk to
damage the deck's heads. (You can pretty much avoid any loss on the
first half by not attaching the tape to the spool and letting it run
off the end.)
