I stumbled across this on a Google image search of *DAT RECORDER.* I hadn't=
recorded anything on my D100 (or anything involving DAT tape) in 2-3 years=
, so I got it out, dusted, swabbed, shined, and got it roadworthy again. Wo=
w. I forgot how damned noisy and slow the thing was loading! And after year=
s of sitting, I'll say, it definitely behooves the DAT deck owner to place =
a couple silica moisture-sucking packets in a tupperware with your portable=
if you plan to store it for more than a month or so. I had tiny stippling =
of corrosion over many surfaces inside. Anyway, despite some loading issues=
, the ol' D100 still records!=0ALike I said before, "Long [brzzzzzzt!] live=
[dropout] DAT! [tape ends]."=0AJonathan=0A =0A=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=
