I am getting a error msg "no input". Set up was as
follows: RCA jacks>analog standalone cd burner rca
jacks>coaxial out of standalone burner to Sony D8. Any
feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, william

That will only help Mike set up his own Revox A77 for correct Dolby 
encode and playback, but can he be sure that the inherited tapes were 
made on a properly calibrated machine? Ideally, all Dolby recordings 
should include Dolby reference level test tones at the start of the 
tape. Ir simpilfies alignment issues down the road. Unlike with dbx, 
the degree of compression with Dolby is level dependent, so its 
logical that the playback circutry will need to get its compass 
bearings from a correct reference level.

anybody seen a reasonable one!?
a buddy showed me his in dash mp3 player with a usb port and that is awesome,
but i want the same thing but with flac capability.  i suppose i could
settle for
the mp3 one since the road noise makes good quality mp3's perfectly listenable,
but just wanted to see if anybody had one.

i did a google search and saw volvo has a unit but it is specific for
their vehicles
and includes a hard disk in trunk system and all i want is that usb capability
