You are forgetting the Zoom H4, which has XLR connectors and 48v phantom power. B&H seems like a good place to buy them all. Carlos E. Reply-To: dave n Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2007 16:30:17 -0500 (EST) I'm quite happy with my Tascam HD-P2: http://www.tascam.com/Products/hdp2.html Don't let the $1249 MSRP list price (or even the usual $999 internet/street price) scare you... I got mine for under $900... Plus an 8GB CF card for a little over $200 - and I had a 24/96 recorder that can do 5 hours - all for $300 less than the old Tascam DA-P1 DAT machine - and no more blank DAT costs to boot... I always get great prices from Dale Pro Audio in NYC - not sure how they are if you're out of town, but they consistently get me better prices on tons of stuff than any of the well-known internet discounters. FWIW - some of the guys at Dale came from Masterpiece A/V - who you may remember from past Dead scene/post-Dead scene DAT taping days... dave nolan nyc >------------------------------ > >From: "Dat Head" >Subject: portable solid state recorders (edirol, microtrack, sony, ?) >Date: Tue, 13 Feb 2007 13:42:42 -0500 > >well, the trusty Denon DTR80p seems to not be so trusty anymore - i was hoping >to get a few more years out of it and probably could spend $100 to get it tuned >up since i think that is all it needs. > >but maybe it is time for a solid state device - prices seem to have dropped. > >i read some reviews on the 'net but they were all fairly old so wanted to see >what consensus is here on them and recommended place to buy. > >Edirol R-09 still the latest model - $399 (cheaper somewhere else?) >i recall firmware issues but they have been ironed out now right? > >MicroTrack 24/96 $350? > >4GB SD now around $100ish!? > >Sony PCM D1 - looks great but $1800 - give me a break - even with >built in 4GB RAM >and SMB-1 that is still $1000 too much! > >-- >The difference between men and women is simple: > A man falls in love with a woman he is attracted to, > a woman becomes attracted to a man she fell in love with. > >------------------------------ > >** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** > >To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to >dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net > >If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) >send the message to > >dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net > >and the old address will be removed. > >Problems or questions about a subscription should be addressed >via these avenues and then if needed to > >dat-heads-owner@datheads.phish.net >or >postmaster@datheads.phish.net > >never the list itself > >You can submit a message for inclusion in the next digest via this address: > > Internet: dat-heads@datheads.phish.net > >Archives of DAT-Heads digests and related files are available on >the DAT-Heads home page: > >http://www.solorb.com/dat-heads/ > > >End of DAT-Heads Digest >****************************** > ------------------------------ ** FOR YOUR REFERENCE ** To unsubscribe from this digest, please send email to dat-heads-unsubscribe@datheads.phish.net If your email address has changed, you may (optionally) send the message to dat-heads-unsubscribe-oldaddress=olddomain@datheads.phish.net and the old address will be removed.
