Stephen Bezruchka made an outstanding post on:
Fri, 9 Jun 2006 under the
Subject: Edirol R-09 review with comparisons to Microtrack and Marantz.
My question now is: how do these compare to the just out Korg MR1?
Anybody using one of these yet? The descriptions sure sound great!

their policy is posted on their website - aud ok, no sbd
i might catch them in New Orleans on a triple bill with anders osborne and
eric lindell (never seen mofro or lindell - not sure they are my cup
of tea or not,
but with a triple bill it might be a good exposure to them)

i tried out a 24/96 a few weeks ago and liked it - only downside was
the 1/4" jacks levels seem very high, had to use an two rather expensive
external -12dB attenuators,
odd that the unit has a +24dB gain on that input, but no attenuator.
can anyone tell me is there anything that would prevent using the 1/8" jack
for a line in (not mic in) then i can just use their $20 -10db attenuator.
also not real hot on the proprietary battery (would prefer AA NiMh)
but other than that the unit did make a fine recording.
it is a bit hard (for me) to understand how their level meter works but i guess
i just need some more time with the unit.
