From: Nate Pelton <nate@adkmusic.com> Subject: perfectly spaced dropouts Reply-To: nate@adkmusic.com Date: Fri, 13 Apr 2007 11:42:18 -0400 Hello- I've been taping with the same decks and equipment for a few years and never encountered this problem. First: Recorded with: Rode NT4>Audio Buddy>DAP1 Transfer: DAP1>U2A (via Monster Coax)>PC (via USB) I've narrowed the problem down to the transfer, because upon playback just for listening these dropouts are not present. The recording in my computer has these dropouts occurring at unusually regular intervals. They come in pairs, which are spaced 75 seconds apart. The pairs are 4min45sec apart. I know it's confusing, but an example would be: 4min15sec, 5min30sec, 9min, 10min15sec, 13min45sec, 15min, and so on..... Then, at about 40 minutes into this 100 minute recording, the dropouts occur in groups of three, still spaced at 1min15sec. I am running XP, which has been an issue for the U2A. And I'm recording into the PC using WaveLab 3.03, which says isn't compatible with XP, but installs fine. Any help appreciated. Thank you. -Nate
