All this talk about selling uncirculated tapes makes me think I left a few bucks on the table.
A few years ago, by chance I found a guy that taped Led Zep in St Louis 1975. This was before the soundboard tape came out. Only tape at that point was an incomplete crappy audience tape, missing the first hour or so of the show. I knew we could have sold it, but i also knew how cool it would be to just get it out there for people to hear. The taper thought it would be cool for so many to have a copy, so he didnt care.
I also thought it was a cool way to start an awesome collection of zep tapes. So it wasnt like my motivations were trully altruistic. I could have just given copies to people instead of trading.
At the same time I can see why some people dont like the idea of their tapes being circulated around the globe because of all the time , money for gear, concert tickets, dealing with security, etc that can go into making a good tape. That is why I like to trade one on one, with other tapers.
So I might as well offer up a copy of the show I mentioned.
Led Zeppeiln 2-16-75 St louis, Mo audience tape
First one to email me with their snail mail gets a copy.
And if anyone is up for an actual dat trade, let me know.
Tom
