Subject: Handed down setup, what do I need now to get taping?

I was recently handed down parts of a taping rig and I'm wondering what 
I need to now obtain to get started taping. Here's what I have:

-1 AKG C1000s microphone
-1 AKG C3000b microphone
-Sony D8, serviced a few years ago I was told, plugged in and works fine
-Denecke PS-1 phantom power unit
-Power supply (wall wart) for D8

I also have 30 used DAT tapes--can I just tape over these or is that 
going to be a problem?

I'd *really* like to get this rig up and running by the end of the week 
to tape various shows at the Wakarusa Festival but I'm on a budget and 
understand
